My poor old Gran was so afraid of one of our local hospitals, that she begged to be admitted to one in another area. She'd had to watch as my late Granda' was treated by some staff appallingly. Thing is, we were too afraid of what they'd do to him when we weren't there to complain until after he died.
Gran felt that because we'd made a formal complaint, if she was admitted to the same hospital, it would be on her record and she'd suffer from the same.
Sadly, when she had her last stroke, she ended up on a ward where the very member of staff who'd we'd complained about was based.
It's dreadful that people are put into that position, and worse that that cruelty is allowed to continue.
I also know that so many nursing and auxilliary staff are excellent, and working in very difficult conditions, but such a shame that the reputations of all are tarnished by the actions of the few.
