   Midnight Express, yep that's right the Oliver Stone film about a chap in a Turkish prison in which good times are most definitely not had, is being turned into a ballet.

   I'm not joking.

   That's the sort of thing that would have been a throwaway line on Brass Eye.

   Can anyone think of any other hugely unlikely cultural events?

   I'd like to see Leveson On Ice! which is famous for the hilarity and acrobatics of the custard pie scene.

   @Carter It's an Alan Parker film.

   As for crossovers, I'm still waiting for the makers of the hugely successful phone app game 'Angry Birds' to have the arses sued off 'em by the estate of Alfred Hitchcock.

   Midnight Express doesn't altogether suprise me, modern ballet is pretty out there - I've seen a ballet that featured gang rape and suicide and another one about a prostitute killer.

   given the Stuart Hall accusations, how about a remake of It's a Knockout where the 'hilarious' giant figures are anatomically correct police dolls...
