A shop that supplies bespoke bags of fairtrade sand to North London home-owners who fear flooding has won Retailer of the Year for a record third year in a row.
"Residents of Hampstead and Primrose Hill have paid a lot for their sweeping views over London, but they want to be sure they are protecting their properties from flood sustainably and fashionably," said the manager of the boutique that supplies ethically-sourced sand from the foothills of Xiamen Sumogo.
Well-healed Londoners have been flocking to buy the pure, hand-crafted sandbags which contain a unique blend of biogenic coral, aplite olivine and volcanic ash.
Sandbaggers say their latest range of 'guilt-free' artisan sandbags are now available in a coarse cotton gauze, a cheese cloth ‘tie-dye’ disposable wrap or traditional ‘loose’ in an authentic Balinese carved bucket, complete with pouring spout and silvery ductile, lightweight metal handle.
