Gary Lineker, who lead the BBC presentation team on last night's Sports Review of the Year, has been severely reproached by Buckingham Palace.
Lineker, a 52 year old commoner from Leicester, approached the Duchess of Cambridge, without an official introduction, to inquire after her health. The Duchess, looking radiant in a full-length Alexander McQueen green gown, was clearly taken aback by the intrusion. But rather than make an ugly scene in front of David Beckham and Lord Coe, was believed to have answered, “I'm feeling fine.”
Which would have been an end of the sorry affair. Had not the Palace woken this morning to national newspaper headlines claiming “Kate Feeling Fine.”
