   Unrelated to this story, and I'm sure it's been said before, but if he's so good a PR, how come everyone thinks he's a twat?

   Is Louis Theroux the link here ? Savile, Clifford - I bet Paul Daniels is shitting himself.

   I think it would be easier for the police to say who they are not investigating.

   On a related note. I hope there is nothing in the Stuart hall allegations (although no smoke ...). The way he can describe a grim 0-0 draw on sports report (5live) is majestic. A modern day wordsmith.

   I agree Perks - Stuart Hall is a highlight of Sports Report and I hope it's not true, but if it is then I have no sympathy. As for Clifford though - he's a complete twunt.

   Last month Clifford publicly questioned where the police inquiry might lead and said a lot of old stars were worried about being dragged into the investigation because they had appeared on Top Of The Pops or Jim’ll Fix It and had merely posed for photographs with girls and Savile.
   “It is a situation which could easily turn into a witch hunt, a lot of big stars are frightened,” he told ITV’s Daybreak.
   “Where is it going to end?
   “I hope they (the police) concentrate on finding people like Jimmy Savile who were manipulating girls.”

   And not me, he may have added.

   Louis Theroux also spent time with Neal and Christine Hamilton, who had sexual assault allegations made against them whilst he was with them I believe. Those turned out to be a load of bollocks as a I recall.

   How will the media cover the Clifford story?

   With a mixture of gleeful schadenfreud tempered with prudent caution, given that the massively wealthy and litigious great manipulator has Mischon de Reya issuing his statements.

   You can smell the sweat of the newspaper's staff lawyers on every printed sentence.
