As the NHS warns that patient care is suffering due to the shortage of beds, happy news reaches us that Mrs Elsie Grimthorpe an octogenarian who has worked tirelessly her entire life has given up her bed in the Berkshire Royal Infirmary for a pregnant duchess known only as Patient K8.
Elsie, riddled with arthiritis and recovering from pneumonia happily returned to her cold, damp basement flat after it was stressed that there were others in more need of intensive medical help.
This evening, Elsie is not answering her door and strangely, has chosen not to turn on the lights.
