North Korea’s preparations to launch a long-range rocket are underway. A 300-foot-high glass milk bottle has appeared at the Sohae base in the north of the country.
Despite South Korea’s nervousness, North Korea has insisted that the launch is for ‘peaceful purposes’.
‘It is a gift from our Dear Leader, Kim Jong-un, to the children of North Korea,’ said a government spokesperson.
There are unconfirmed reports that as many as twenty North Korean schoolchildren have wept themselves to death at the joyous prospect of the gift.
A 20-foot match has also been spotted leaning against a large step ladder at the launch site.
‘We’re worried about where the stick might land,’ said the South Korean ambassador to Washington.
