A number of Formula One teams are looking into the possibility of sourcing their tyres from Qwik Fit as they attempt to find tyres that will actually last race distance.
According to insider sources teams are unhappy that their tyres are falling apart at distances that would hardly get you to the shops and back whilst the tyres on their personal cars will last several years.
So far the only real drawback appears to be that in the event of a puncture it will be necessary to wait in the pits while a man in grubby blue overalls phones another branch to get the right tyres. However, this will be mitigated by the opportunity to buy a scalding cup of coffee from a barely working vending machine whilst reading last February's Autocar. Drivers will also be offered a free 'ready for winter' check.
