Voters in Mid-Bedfordshire were dancing in the streets today with news that their Conservative MP, Nadine Dorries, was heading back to the Australian jungle.
Following a tense meeting with Chief Whip, Sir George Young, Miss Dorries announced her intention to return immediately to the 'I'm A Celebrity' camp.
After waving to tourists sheltering from the rain and signing an autograph for a bemused policeman, she told another passer-by that, once back amongst the celebrities, she intended to rebuild bridges with her constituents and her many friends and colleagues at Westminster. “Sir George told me the return of the whip was conditional on my spending a lot more time in the jungle,” Dorries said as she triumphantly headed out to Heathrow.
