The Government have today responded to the ongoing flood crisis by announcing that Thirst Pocket kitchen rolls will be dropped by air into the most seriously affected areas. The move was agreed at an emergency COBRA meeting this morning.
It’s believed the Government have secured a 2 for 1 offer from Morrisons Supermarkets and will start dropping the Thirst Pockets this lunchtime across Stratford Upon Avon, Devon, Cornwall and North Wales. Environment Secretary, Owen Paterson commented on the move “We chose the Thirst Pocket option as they ‘have the power of an elephant in just one sheet’. Imagine that 250 sheets to a roll, that’s equivalent to 250 elephants soaking up the flood waters. We’ll have this thing mopped up by tea time”.
Resident have welcomed the move, but some have pointed out that Plenty kitchen rolls are on offer 2 for £2 in Tesco
