Rotherham Council are to investigate why three children from down South were removed from a foster couple who are from up North.
Rotherham's Director of Children and Young People's Services, Joyce Thacker, defended the decision, saying it was influenced by the differences between 'folk from up North and people from down South'.
'We didn't know the children were from down South,'she said. 'We have nothing against people from down South, but we don't think that children from there will cope with our down to earth honest to goodness Northern way of doing things after a soft life in London.'
Mrs Hacker is up North born and bred.
