@ID When we lived up there, that sign used to amuse me and the kids every time. We'd all shout "This way to the Secret Bunker...Doh!"

My dad is a proud Yorkshireman, I have never lived anywhere but South though - but I always loved this that was said a lot in my house in the 70's / 80's:

Ear all, see all, say nowt.
Eyt all, sup all, pay nowt.
And if ivver tha does owt fer nowt,
Allus do it fer thissen.
