A Cobham Toymaker threw his expensive handmade Italian puppet, Roberto di Pinnochio, out of his Toyshop yesterday. The Toymaker's website has officially thanked Pinnochio for his contribution to the 'Toyshop Project' although privately we understand the Toymaker has referred to him as being about as useful as a 'snail in a salt mine'.
Pinnochio, who cost £400bn to make, had the job of teaboy within the Toyshop but got his marching orders after failing to produce the right sort of teacups for the Toyshop's boardroom.
The Toymaker is looking to buy any Puppet who can serve tea properly and, to that end, has vowed to spend the equivalent of the annual turnover of the Chinese Tea Industry.
