Energy bosses have reacted to criticism from consumer groups today following the news that they have posted record profits despite the underlying cost of fuel reducing over the past 3 months. British Gas boss, Phil Bentley commented. “The problem is that these consumer do gooders have no business sense”. He added “It’s a simple case of supply and demand, we have the gas, they need the heat. Simples! And let’s face it as the temperature drops we can charge what we like! We’re just fattening the goose for Christmas! It’s the first thing they teach you in business school”.
In the outburst during an interview with the BBC’s Jeremy Vine he closed the interview with “Come on Jezza you know these Christmas parties don’t pay for themselves!”
