A forum on ‘The benefits on vegetarianism for the under-fives’ on the popular social network Mumsnet has ended with no references to Nazi German, Hitler or The Third Reich.
The thread which was started on Monday 12th November by MsLillyPolly, a self-confessed New Ager and lactose intolerant, attracted more than 3,000 negative comments by recommending vegetarian diets for pre-school children.
“As a vegetarian and lactose intolerant I only want to outline the benefits of a dairy and meat free diet,” said an exhausted MsLillyPolly in her one thousand nine hundred and ninety ninth response. “I am surprised to be receiving so many hate-filled responses from such an innocent thread.”
However the rants continued long into Wednesday evening, resulting in a deflated MsLillyPolly and almost leading to a complete Mumsnet meltdown.
One Mumsnet member, Fannygetyourgun commented, “It is women like you that are killing off the dairy industry necessitating kids to be tit fed until they are twelve. Who needs bovine TB with people like you around?”
In another rant, Queenofdetox said, “I’d like to force a McDonalds’ Happy Meal, box and all, down your scraggy hippy throat.”
Mumsnet forum moderator, Melissa Forbes finally interjected by thanking members for their restraint in not mentioning anything connected to Nazi Germany or President Vladimir Putin.
