But Okra Winfrey, whose famous TV “Aloo Chat!” show is as successful among African Americans as it is among Indian Takeaways, has denied, through her agent, being reduced to the state of a vegetable. Rumours she is being looked after in a secret greenhouse away from the glare of publicity have been vehemently denied.
“Nothing could be further than the truth”, said Jerry Squire, Ms Winfrey’s agent and manager. “The reason she has been absent from our TV screens is she has been deep in conversation with film producers about her new movie.” Inspired by the success of the silent French film The Artist, Ms Winfrey is understood the be about to produce a Bollywood twist on the Marx Brother’s classic, whose working title is “A Night at the Okra”
