The editor of the Daily Mail resigned today after the paper published an article that broke "all the paper's established guidelines"
The paper had published an article which implied that some immigrants were not in fact welfare and housing scrounging criminals intent on grooming teenage girls for prostitution rings. Instead they sought out and interviewed successful immigrants who were contributing to the country -and even provided them an opportunity to review the quotes before publishing.
"This is unacceptable", the editor said. Since the 1930s and our support for fascism, this paper has long held high our values: a hatred for johnny foreigner and a belief that it is everyone's right to park their car outside their own house. Once our journalists start taking a balanced view of people from abroad, where next? That we should have sympathy for the unemployed, or that speed cameras prevent crashes?
