The ‘Three Turkeys Roast’ has been voted the top BBC food recipe of all time.
The dish consists of a sacked producer stuffed into the gastric passage of a senior editorial and policy director, which is in turn stuffed up the arse of a resigned director general. It was selected from thousands of favorite recipes sent in by viewers across the UK.
Spit roast specialist, John Humphrys explained the background to the dish. “In a regular ‘Two Turkey Roast’ the thoracic cavity of a producer is stuffed with a free-range researcher fed on a diet of corn and conjecture. Some versions are stuffed with a marinated presenter fed on a diet of pre-pubescent chickens for a touch of extra spice. Paxman stuffing is another alternative. It is then grilled for two hours.
The Three Turkeys Roast is an extension of this and a more expensive version. It requires a thorough roasting over a longer period after feet have been put into mouths."
However the Three Roast Turkey doesn't come cheap. A typical senior executive turkey can cost as much as £167,000 but, say foodies its diet of champagne, truffles and caviar gives it a less gamey taste. The rare and short lived Entwistle Turkey puts the dish out of the price range of anyone except the highest paid tax evaders at the BBC.
The result is a rich but fairly unstable dish and comes with a warning to those with a delicate disposition who may find it quite upsetting.
