Apparently tired of being characterised as a stuffed shirt with no spontaneity or sense of humour, presidential challenger Willard "Mitt" Romney has declared that he voted for incumbent opponent Barack Obama.
The move was completely unplanned but once in the voting booth, Romney couldn't resist sticking it to his fuddy-duddy image by casting a vote for Obama, though a spokesman says Romney came pretty close to writing in Ted Nugent.
"Aside from anything else, voting for yourself is pretty egotistical" said Romney. "And it's the old thing, where if I vote for myself and Obama votes for himself, then it's a tie. So if we both vote for each other, that resolves the situation." Romney seemed confused when reminded of the millions of other Americans casting votes in the election but soon recovered. "Oh yes. *Them*" he said with a shudder.
Romney continued. "It goes further than that. Voting for yourself is egotistical, but voting at all is egotistical. You're saying "My voice matters, I can have a say, I can help determine the course of our nation." How vain is that? So unless you're a big Narcisstic fathead, stay home and let my son and his company that owns the voting machines take care of things."
UPDATE: Romney lost the popular vote by one ballot.
