I like a quote, me. Especially about writing. My favourite (and I don't know who said it) is:
'The reason writers never look out of the window in the morning is that they'd have nothing to do in the afternoon.'
Any other pearlers out there?

Private Eye cartoon of some years ago:
Two blokes at a party-
1st "I'm writing a book."
2nd "Yes, neither am I."
My personal favourite is attributed to Oscar Wilde.
When asked how his new play was coming along, he replied: "Yesterday, I wrote two words. Today, I crossed them out."
Douglas Adams - "I love deadlines. I love the 'whooshing' sound they make as they fly past."
Virginia Woolf - “Writing is like sex. First you do it for love, then you do it for your friends, and then you do it for money.”
There is no urge so great as for one man to edit another man's work. Mark Twain.
That's particularly true if you're a technical author. Every bastard has a pearl of fucking wisdom. Cunts.
I like them all. I don't think anyone would be desperate enough to pay V. Woolf for sex, though.
Smithy, I think that reads better as 'Every fucker has a pearl of bastard wisdom'
We read to know we are not alone - C.S. Lewis.
We write because we are - me.
