Millions of the UK's layabouts have received a massive uplift from a claim from the country's oldest man that 'being lazy' is the secret of his longevity.
Reg Dean (110) made the statement while lying in bed.
His remarks are said to have infuriated work and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith who argues that idleness is bad for your health.
But father of sixteen Bob Dewsbury (34), who has never had a job, said Mr Dean confirmed what he has always believed.
'I've never felt better,' he said,' especially when I think of much in benefits I'll collect over the next seventy-six years.'
Mr Duncan Smith is 58.
