Is it too late to insert the "u" in oeuf, Mr Seal? Mind, your bon mot could be equally amusing if the plat de résistance were Boiled Oaf al dente*. A sporting reference slithers in, which is always good gnus value.
Whichever of these eventually takes your fancy, the fully-fledged French phrase is Oeuf à la coque, which produces a translingual double-header.
