Hot on the heels of Pippa Middleton’s latest book launch the as yet unborn child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has secured a lucrative deal with children’s book publisher, Usborne Books. Entitled, ‘Happy Accidents of Birth: Please Pull the Ladder Up’ the book is already tipped to win the Baby Booker Prize for Friction.
However in order to avoid any impression that it is cashing in on its royal connections the as yet unborn child has declined to give any media interviews or attend any book signing events.
In his review of ‘Happy Accidents’ the BBC’s Royal correspondent Peter Hunt said, “Each page in this magnificent waterproof tome is designed to be visually stimulating with simple, eye-catching illustrations of royal nipples, diamond encrusted rattles and elaborate canteens of Faberge silver spoons.”
Meanwhile, it has emerged that Party Pieces, the company run by delighted grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton, is offering the book for just £575.99 on their website, undercutting the publisher's price of £950, although Amazon is currently selling it half price at £475.
The as yet unborn author of ‘Happy Accidents’ worked with publishers and child-development experts to draw on the experience of royal parents and nannies and commoner in-laws to create a delightful book that will appeal to royal babies while helping their privileged development.
With its padded cover and thick board pages, the book is perfect for sharing for those who can afford private nursery care following child benefit cuts to any non-royal couples earning over £50,000 per annum.
