Sir Paul McCartney has shattered a Japanese woman's sole claim to fame by stating that she was not responsible for splitting up the Beatles.
'She certainly didn't break the group up,' the 70-year-old will be seen telling Sir David Frost in an interview to be broadcast next month.
His remarks overturn a belief that the diminutive Japanese woman was responsible for the band's separation.
Friends of the Japanese woman say that she is devastated at being plunged back into obscurity by McCartney's remarks.
'I don't think you can blame her for anything,' McCartney says in a final karate chop to the Japanese woman's claim to celebrity.
