A top secret, 500 strong team of crack Scotland Yard detectives, is closing in fast on one of the vilest and most prolific paedo rings to have ever penetrated the highest echelons of London society.
Briefing journalists that the inquiry had today entered its final lap - and to expect an announcement of names imminently - Chief Inspector Bob Appleyard stressed that the long arm of the law always gets its man. “No matter how far they run. No matter how many years pass by. We NEVER close our files until the very last culprit has been rounded-up and placed under lock and key,” he promised.
Disclosing details of the Pimlico Paedo Ring, Appleyard revealed it involved a range of extremely serious criminal offences - including widespread child pornography, rape of under 14 year old girls and boys, incest, buggery, necrophilia and blackmail - all committed between 1897 and 1914.
He then confirmed that upwards of ten thousand child molestors were either 'highly' involved - or in it 'up to their neck' :- including Members of The House of Lords, the War Cabinet, Marylebone Cricket Club and Ascot Royal Box, senior staff of Buckingham Palace, bishops, undertakers, various directors of Fortnum & Mason, lawyers, barristers, several huntsmen, a titled lady-in-waiting, sundry holders of the MBE, proprietors of several London newspapers, two Masters of a Freemason Lodge, assorted members of the House of Romanov, a Harley Street spiritualist, a friend of Kaiser Wilhelm II and many from Eton College.
“Disgusting offences were being committed all over London right under our very noses,” admitted Inspector Appleyard. "In every available nook and cranny you could possibly imagine. Including several in one particular alcove within the busy foyer of Scotland Yard itself.”
“And yes, we've heard more than the occasional malicious whisper over the intervening hundred and fifteen year period. The usual amount of idle gossip that surrounds this sort of stuff. But nothing we could finally take to court. Nothing we could really get to grips with and sink our teeth into without risking our career. Officers even bent over backwards themselves - on more than one occasion - to make various undercover inquiries into some of the more salacious rumours. But it always ended up the same. Never enough solid evidence for a cast iron 24 carat conviction. So the cases were always dropped. Until now that is.”
Arrests are not expected immediately.
