Teenager, Becky Biggleswade, who this summer meandered to her death over the cliffs of Beachy Head, was said today to have died of natural causes.
Following this morning's report that teenage texting has hit epidemic levels, Eastbourne Coroner Robert Southey described 15year old Becky as an ordinary girl with a dangerous 150-a-day text habit. Later he revealed she had updated her Facebook status only an hour before her death, had twittered the news at 10.47am and at the moment she disappeared over the cliff top she was busily communicating vital details of her new boyfriend to a succession of her 3500 FB 'friends'.
“Becky obviously didn't know which planet she was on, which direction she was headed or where she would end up,” said the Coroner
“You win some, you lose some,” he sighed. “Life's full of avoidable risks and in my business 'death whilst texting' is hardly misadventure or accidental. “
“It was an otherwise lovely day on Beachy Head. I'll put it down to natural wastage.”
