Millions of online users of price comparison web site uSwitch are switching over to rival price comparison websites following price comparisons by other price comparison websites.
Online polls suggest that consumers are growing increasingly frustrated by price comparison websites when they compare prices between websites.
Mr Jonty O'Brien, an online price comparison website user and a regular customer of the price comparison website uSwitch said "I've been comparing prices for more than ten years now and the price comparisons I get from uSwitch no longer match the price comparisons I get from other price comparison websites. So I've had no alternative but to switch."
A uSwitch spokesman said, "In these tough economic times it is getting harder to compare prices where there are few price comparisons to be made. We do our best to find the best price comparisons but consumers are now comparing our services with other price comparison companies. It is a vicious circle."
Consumers are now hitting out at the lack of competition between price comparison websites and are lobbying consumer protection bodies to compare price comparison websites against each other in order to protect consumers.
Mr O'Brien continued, "As a consumer I think that uSwitch really needs to get its act in order and that Martin Lewis is a real wanker too, there's no comparison."
