Dear editorial team,

may I humbly request a little more attention is given to the lowly ticker at the top of the page (the preferred vehicle of expression on this site for myself and no doubt many others). The same ones have been up for yonks, and I'm sure plenty of good ones have been submitted by lots of different writers while this has been the case. Thanks.

Idiot - with you on that. The ticker has been suffering from a slow painful death for some time now. Without tickers I am no-one.

Totally agree - I love reading excellent tickers and liked it when there was 3 or 4 new ones each day.

My Dublin born dad thought highly of me - he used to call me ‘tickers a brick.’ Turnover has been remarkably slow this week, and there’s a sickly sweet smell coming from the admin room...

FPs and NIBs are just tickers that don't fit. The ticker is the highest form of NewsBiscuitry and should command more attention.

I'd like to see more running per day (maybe half a dozen), as well as a 24 hour refresh for most - so maybe only the funniest 2 stay up for 2-3 days

...and that long-running one about the newsroom is getting a bit tired

Wasn't like this in my day. When I served on the Editorial Team, I had the tickers running on time, let me tell you. And the place would see the business end of a hoover from time to time. These days it's like Hugh Heffner's safe room. I blame the coalition.
