There are some "showbiz" people I have grave doubts about (necrophiliac pun unintended).

Jeremy Clarkson. I've heard no rumours... but a man can dream...

During the course of my career I worked with a rather more than usually unpleasant alcohol-dependant 'paedophile'. Fortunately, for all the children in his local area, he died. Hoorah!
He told me the name of a famous person who shared his tastes [but then again he told me "you're the besshht Probation Officer I've ever had, honest"].
I'm waiting to see if the name of 'the famous person' appears on the news any time now.

I'm bit worried about the Hairy Bikers.
And Jim Davidson...

Nigella Lawson should only be let out on a leash....

Michael Barrymore. Dead bloke in pool could just be the beginning not the end. Don't know how to phrase it without being libelous so will merely say I know a very alarming 'friend of a friend of a friend who was there' type story about him which if it's even three per cent true would give most people a case of the shudders.
Oh, and Noel Edmonds. Don't know anything about him but he's creepy as.

Shitsu - what is your position on <oily celeb withdrawn> ?

Simon Bates... related to Norman Bates, I fancy. If he isn't guilty of some heinous crime that's literally indescribable, then I'll eat my breakfast...

C'mon people...you're better than this.
Leave this sort of shit to the Daily MailPosted 7 months ago # -

Leave this sort of shit to the Daily MailSounds like you're one of them, old man. I hope you can account for your movements over the past few decades...

Revolutionary France-esque denouncement.
J'accuse, Paedo!
Given our libel laws expiring on death of the victim, this is a BAD time to die if you're an ageing celebrity- best keeping the life-support machine plugged in until the hoo-hah has died down a bit.

Gary Pucket and the Union Gap were quite open about it back in the olden days but at least they seemed to realise they had a problem. (sorry, that means had an issue, for the younger listeners)

@Lucy4:
Neil Sedaka cut it a bit fine too:
"Happy birthday sweet sixteen
Tonight's the night I've waited for
Because you're not a baby anymore"And if you have a twisted enough interpretation of lyrics.. Eric Clapton might raise a few eyebrows with After Midnight.. although like Neil Sedaka before him, at least it could be said that he waited.
"After midnight, we're gonna let it all hang down.
After midnight, we're gonna chug-a-lug and shout.
We're gonna stimulate some action;
We're gonna get some satisfaction.
We're gonna find out what it is all about.
After midnight, we're gonna let it all hang down. After midnight, we're gonna shake your tambourine.
After midnight, it's all gonna be peaches and cream.
We're gonna cause talk and suspicion;
We're gonna give an exhibition.
We're gonna find out what it is all about.
After midnight, we're gonna let it all hang down"Posted 7 months ago # -
Was 'My Sharona' not about the singer's lust for an underage girl?

This is where it leads.
If you don't join the lynch mob then you must be 'one of them' yourself.
No Tripod...I'm not 'one of them'
Make sure you know what you're doing when you make accusations like that.
I don't have a highly paid lawyer to fight my corner but I'm pretty sure some of those already mentioned will have.
I can hear the legal people licking their lips as we speak.
But if you think it's fun to slander people....away you go.
Jeni...is it slander or defamation of character?Posted 7 months ago # -
just a suggestion, but it might be worth asking the admin to take this thread down
Scroat - you happy with that?
Posted 7 months ago # -
It's libel if it's written and slander if spoken. Oops, sorry I've butted in.
The lynch mob is certainly out, though. Old Jimmy might well have been a predatory sex monster but I'd have a bet on at least some of those who are now saying they were abused are either after a bit of the spotlight and/or compensation. William Hill are't interested though.Posted 7 months ago # -
Might be an idea!

Well, since this is a humour site, and I don't know who the fuck you are, you might have assumed, rightly, that I was joking.
The humour - and it's grim stuff, post Savile - is not about which celeb might be implicated in naughty doings, but about an open season on people in the public eye... now that we have dispensed with legal procedures, and established that unsubstantiated gossip is all that's required to blacken a man's reputation and send him down.

Gilbert O'Sullivan "Claire."
Maurice Chevalier "Thank Heaven For Little Girls" OMG!!!

Lucy4 is quite correct, although in Scotland we only have defamation which covers the areas of slander, libel, hurt feelings and ruinous to reputation.
I think there has been an 'open-season' mentality, but that is probably due to the revelation that ribald behaviour was pretty much a given amongst certain groups during the 60s, 70s and 80s.
I also suspect that there will be more to come, and many more boats will be rocked.

Even Abba got in the act with 'Does Your Mother Know?', whose plot is basically man-reluctantly-decides-against-doing-it-with-underage-girl, for Benny and Bjorn were singing.
I like to think of Clarkson suffering from impotence ahead of yet another fling and the woman patiently asking him...
[...wait for it..]
... 'How hard can it be??'

"If that penis was a coffee, it'd be a decaff soya skinny latte".

I heard a lawyer (possibly schister) on the TV this morning saying dozens more had come forward in search of compensation. I think the suggestion was that if the BBC is culpable they may be forced to pay compensation. Given it has a pretty big purse I think we may see many more victims come forward. In fact, although I never met him, I am sure JS interfered with me when I was a kid.

He interfered with me through the TV screen... Can I get compensation?...
Posted 7 months ago # -
I've seen Chris Tarrant chuck his custard all over the faces of kids in the early 1980's every Saturday morning.
I didn't say anything though, as he was a big star.

Did ITV ever fail to protect me too? Hmmm. Those train and road safety adverts... might be worth a punt. No win , no fee. What do you recon Jeni?

I'm still traumatised from listening to Savile on Radio One 30 years ago.

When I was a teenager Sally James on Tiswas forced me to violate myself frequently, I'm sure I wasn't the only one... Can we have some cash?
