Shit! I was just about to find out how re-lacing my shoes can overcome the problem of boney arches and it stopped. I need to know the answer. I use the straight up and across system rather than a criss-cross to avoid the laces digging in. God, I'm boring myself now.

Ah, the fine art of lacing. I use the criss-cross method, as I saw it on a Saxon-period shoe in Rochester museum when I was a kid, and thought it looked cool. I really must get a life.
