Recent photographs of a pop star have alarmed former fans, which hint at an artiste struggling to resist the inevitability of ageing.
Online commentator ‘Pop Bitch’ has drawn attention to crow’s feet around the eyes of the musician, tell-tale signs of a lifestyle unaddicted to injecting every imperfection with botox.
“It’s disgusting”, said ex-fan Margaret Hamill of Nuneaton, who first saw the star perform under the heavy influence of make-up during his heyday in the 70s. “These people are supposed to be a role model for young-at-heart groupies. The least he can do is get back on the bottle, he'd look so much younger with a splash of ‘Just for Men’.”
Hamill has herself fought a long battle with reality, only posting pictures of herself on Facebook that are over 20 years old. “If this star carries on acting his age, I might have to unfollow him on Twitter”, complained Hamill. “Or get my daughter to do it: my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be.”
