Despite charging customers ridiculous amounts for coffee, Starbucks UK makes only a teenie-weenie profit. This is because Starbucks UK is charged a ridiculous amount for the coffee beans by Starbucks USA.

I'm still working on why Amazon pays so little tax in the UK.

I expect Starbucks USA are themselves being charged extortionate prices for coffee beans by hard-nosed sharecroppers in the Andes.
