Gus Honeybun is to be resurrected by CITV as an animated series for pre-schoolers.
The character, who launched the career of Judi Spiers and famously sweary TV and radio presenter David Fitzgerald, will also come with his own animated fans and followers.
"We're excited about the new show, which will be voiced by the comedian and actor Miles Jupp in an authentic west country accent. Gus's younger fans will be called the Gusettes and will follow his activities, cleaning up after him and keeping the whole thing together." CITV spokesman Andrea Mathers said.
26 ten minute episodes of the show have been commissioned and are currently in production, with the first broadcast later this year.
