I wanted to put 'Justin Lee Collins sentenced to 140 hours unpaid work - 'no tv' stipulates judge' but it wouldn't fit into the standard imperial ticker format.

Personally I feel if you can't get it in and make it sound right thenI would leave it

How about changing 'sentenced to' to simply 'to do' and 'stipulates' to 'says'. If you mention the judge you don't need sentenced. Also, Is he not sometime refered to as JLC. If so that would help get it down.
