Personal Injury specialist, National Accident Helpline (NAH) has bought ITV’s ‘You've Been Framed!’ the popular long running series where viewers send in humorous home videos portraying accidents and mishaps.
The show which will be narrated by accident claims advert supremo, Esther Rantzen, will have a brand new feature whereby ‘victims’ can gamble their £250 fee by handing it over to a network of specialist personal injury solicitors who will work hard and fast to win their cases.
Beth Powell, Consumer Director at NAH, describes the new concept with enthusiasm. “When viewer’s send us their clips our legally trained editors will be able to quickly assess if they’ve got a case and be able to bring the full weight of the law down on their friends, families or local councils resulting in massive pay outs. The winnings in The Million Pound Drop will look like chicken-feed by the time we’ve wrung everybody dry.”
Mr Chas Chaplin, aged 85 won £12,700 following a slipping accident through a triple glazed window at is nephew’s bar mitzvah in 1995 which was filmed on his brother’s Super 8 camera.
“The fall was really painful and the doctor said I’d probably get post-traumatic stress as well as whiplash. The family weren’t sympathetic at all and sent it straight to ‘You’ve Been Framed!’ That was what made me pick up the phone to the National Accident Helpline. Within an hour a solicitor called me and before I knew it I’d got almost thirteen grand out of the bastards.“
No matter how old or how suspect the clip the show’s producers will use trained solicitors and editors to meet with victims to put together a watertight case with a mix of further editing and computer generated imagery.
Ms Powell continued, “This takes our ‘no win, no fee’ promise to a brand new level –basically they’re all screwed!”
