The Curiosity team from NASA has been surprised by the appearance of live seagull in one of the photos sent back from the surface of Mars. It seems that the feckless fowl followed the mission from earth, in the hope that the people inside the craft would eventually throw out the crusts of their sandwiches.

The unfortunate bird was gulled into following the craft by all the chips on board - perhaps.
