I read this last night and thought it was a joke initially. German religious groups really do pay an extra 8-9% income tax which goes to their church.

Not sure if there is a sub there somewhere

although it's a bit too reliant on the obvious stereotypes, and could perhaps be cut down a bit to be punchier. Feel free to use bits of it if you want to have a go!
It's the church at its best to say "Pay up or you'll go to hell" - although there is a long history of this kind of formal payment to churches - even in UK. The sad thing is, people will continue to pay due to the fear created by these shitty imaginary fairy stories.
Not as bad as it seems though, it's 8% of the persons income tax bill, not 8% extra income tax (just for the pedants out there).
Oh yes, sorry Sir Lupus .. didn't see the sub. I like it and I am not really a good author so I doubt I can improve it ! ..
Thanks Mr Hat, I had missed the income tax bill bit. Harry Potter is still cheaper ..
This tax is a fantastic idea. People might actually admit to not giving a toss about religion rather than putting CofE on the census if they thought they'd have to pay extra tax to do so.
