SARS - Can something be Severe AND Acute ?

We might need ID to confirm, but my understanding is that the words have precise but different meanings in the clinic:
"acute" is temporal, and the opposite of chronic, eg a sneeze is acute but not usually severe
"severe" is the impact of it, eg cancer is severe but not acute
"acute and severe" would be best avoided.
Sinnick gets the coconut.
"acute and severe" is our mission statement for the preparation of invoices.
What about a cute and severe mistress? Is that ok?
