Pop superstar Peter Andre and back street brawler Alex Reid have announced their engagement this morning just days after Katie Price said she was going it alone. Andre and Reid will tie the knot next week at the registry office in Market Harborough, they will then share an intimate honeymoon in Torquay before Andre heads off on a three date tour of the Isle of Sheppey.
Speaking of their whirlwind romance Andre said, “Do you know what? Kate has caused us both a lot of pain so I guess it was kind of inevitable that we would fall into each other’s arms at some point.” Reid said, “Pete is the man for me, he can sing, he can dance, he’s a Greek Australian, what more can I say?” The press pack gathered at the announcement was more cynical of the civil partnership to be. “They are just trying to out-do Jordan, it’s their only hope to retain some celebrity status”, commented one reporter before clambering over the others to get an interview.
Elton John and David Furnish have already been in contact with offers to help organise the ceremony and reception afterwards. John is thought to have ordered a lavish costume which will be made out of the skins of newly born lambs, ‘signifying the brand new relationship which is so young and fragile’. Furnish will be wearing a cage fighting outfit complete with authentic smears of oil from a local MOT garage.
Price is said to be supportive of the partnership, but is not allowing her children to attend the ceremony and reception as they would not understand what is happening and might get upset. Instead, they will be loaned to the happy couple for a one hour photo shoot taking place between the ceremony and reception. Andre said, “Kate is being very magnino, very magnano, she’s been great all along.” The photos will appear in OK and Hello magazines along with exclusive photos of the wedding night and honeymoon. The magazines have also secured a deal to cover the break-up of the partnership scheduled for August, and Andre’s subsequent marriage to Price for the second time in September.
