Offcut, the government regulator that oversees the approval of both the male hairdressing, shaving and cold meat retail sectors has ruled that Mr Sweeney Todd is a “fit and proper person” to run a national business dealing in cutting hair and making meat pies.
An earlier investigation into Mr Todd’s business, which he set up with a Mrs Edna Lovett, raised questions about customer care and the safety of his barber’s chairs. And, it’s alleged, business partner Edna Lovett’s pie manufacturing technique has involved “exotic” meats. Despite rumours circulating in Fleet Street, Mr Todd has denied all allegations of throat-hacking.
