“One minute I was enjoying an exotic holiday in the Middle East, the next I was being shouted at by a Sergeant Major Male Midwife,” an exhausted Jennifer Beasley of Wigan recalled. “He kept saying Attention!! At Ease! Attention!!” At ease!” Then he shouted “Push! Push! You horrible little man! Call that pushing?! !!! I could push my push bike harder than that!!! Breathe!! IN OUT IN OUT!!! I’ll have you on a charge!!” He was shouting and I was screaming and it all got so loud, Prince Harry suddenly appeared, naked and then I thought I must be dreaming, it must be the gas and air, and then when I woke up my baby had been born, but to my horror, they’d put a little khaki nappy and a uniform on him and given him the rank of corporal! What’s worse, I’ve been put on a charge for not trying hard enough, even though I have no clear recollection of joining the army!”
