An entrepreneur from Bristol was today celebrating earning his first Million pounds from his buy-and-scrap business. He started his business a week ago after a shopping trip to the supermarket.
‘Before I had even started my main food shopping I got the deal that changed my life’ 24 year old Mark Taylor told us. ‘For just £1 I managed to purchase a shopping trolley. After slotting in my pound coin to complete the transaction, it occurred to me it must be worth more than a quid. A quick trip to the scrap yard saw me sell it £20.’
Not to miss a business opportunity, Mr Taylor reinvested the £20 and bought 20 more trolleys. Selling these on saw him net £400 for a day’s work. After the first day trading, things were so good he had to take on three employees to help him manage the work load.
Now he has got to his first million, Mr Taylor explained he is thinking about changing his business plan. ‘Although this approach has done me well, I realised you can sell shopping trolleys to supermarkets for £150. Which is lucky, because I hear locally there is a shortage.’
When asked if he could cope with the increase in supermarkets and demand that places on his business he just smirked and said ‘every lidl helps'
