Hours pass without messages. I know I have been advised to 'get out more'. Well, I stood outside the back door for 10 minutes, this afternoon and when I got back there were still no messages.

I hope Mr Q's lack of tonsils clears up and that Mr Doran has a nice 80th birthday. I trust Mary is well and thriving, and Stunts, Jeni, Sauce, Shitsu et al. Perhaps Mr Bridge is a little less grumpy now. Hopefully those living in poorer countries, like the US and Australia are coping. Our hearts go out to you. Love, Plucky xxx

You know, I think this lack-of-tonsils thing might be a little more chronic than that - not likely to clear up any time soon I doubt, unless they instigate tonsil transplants for those of us with sub-optimal throat visages.

I hope its not more chronic, Mr Q. Having your tonsils out is a bit more difficult once you are out of your teens but I hope there are not other complications...

They could always spontaneously re-grow, we Timelords are prone to that. Or is that we worms. Either will do.

The surgeon appears to have done quite the tidy job, starting to look quite neat in there, albeit lop-sided (on account, I believe, of removing the remnants of a quinsy on the left at the same time).

Mrs Q has declined a decent gander after I sent her a phone photo soon after the event yesterday, but the kids are eminently fascinated as one might expect.

Did you bring home the severed organs in a bottle of formaldehyde?

I was offered the off-cuts of my fallopians but declined. Dad already had my late mother's gall stones on the mantlepiece and less is more, as they say.

I meant to ask if I could hang onto the chunks, kind-of like asking to see the worn parts at a garage, but forgot.

Do they actually let you have your own offal if you ask?

It reminds me of Mrs Munky visiting a friend's house. There was a Poundland plaster dog by the fire. The friend said: 'Our dog - Ben's - ashes are in there'.

Mr Q: Mrs Q shouldn't decline a decent gander. Geese are one of life's pleasures - especially decent ones.

I dunno if they still let you take the bits home. I was in California when I had surgery. And the gall stones were 30 years ago now.
