I'm so sorry for your condition, Gerontius, I hope the Doctor's given you plenty of medicine to help you recover and get back to being normal like us (tongue pressed firmly into cheek)

There's a rather nice phrase around here, you can imagine it being used by middle-aged women gossiping over the fence, with this being mouthed rather than spoken aloud. I don't know how widespread the phrase is:

"He's on the other bus"

And I suppose we can add the phrase "bacon griller" to the world dictionary now.

For me, anyone with a big loud mouth of their own (racists, militant islamists, the press, celebs, Jon Gaunt, Prince Philip, Clarkson, politicians, marketing people, et al) is fair game. Others (The Queen, the gays, people of faith, etc) should be treated humorously but with some degree of kindness and generosity. I'd like to think that the latter could read my posts and have a bit of a chuckle, but it's always a tough call.

I stick to this format religiously, but like my own catholicism, consequently lapse and go hell-bound on a regular basis.

Personal tragedies are a no no in my book (well, excluding Richard III).

The amazing Stephen Hawking is, I'm afraid, solid gold for both physicists and comedy writers.
