I have been offered ice cream by Mrs Q but declined so far - breakfast seemed the wrong time of day.

Without drugs it is complete agony, especially eating. They thoughtfully gave me soluble drugs to make them easier to take and simultaneously bathe the wound site but, in a peculiarly sadistic twist, the most effective one needs to be taken with, or after, food. Chicken-egg. Gotta eat painfully to take the painkillers. I think my choice of a bowl of Special K wasn't the wisest - live and learn. It's the chewing action and opening the mouth that hurts most at times.

Once I'm dosed up, however, it's perfectly tolerable - thank god for modern medicines!

Glad the painkillers are working. You could have liquid meals, through a straw if its really painful - but I doubt you will like this option.

I can eat fine once the drugs have kicked in - so much for my plan of an enforced diet to lose a few pounds!
