We are all aware of the Gideon/George Osborn name transplant for the chancellor, but evidence has come to light of another member of the Cabinet having a name change to 'improve' their image and electability.
A former constituency party worker, Tony Hirt, has revealed that Jeremy Hunt initially canvassed using his christened name, Eustace.
"Introducing our candidate at the meet and greets was a real joke" revealed Mr. Hirt
"Many people would respond with 'I expect he is' or berate the staff for their lack of sensitivity and foulmouthedness. It all got a bit too much, and we had to plead with him to change."
"The problem there was that he really struck on becoming a Michael, despite all our protests to the contrary. Jeremy was a real compromise - no one's real favourite and way down the approved list, but we were all tired, the pubs were closing and we were broken men. I just wanted out"
"Mind you, with hindsight, we should have plumped for Isaac"
