Cricket fans expressed concerns for the mental state of disgruntled South African England player Kevin Pietersen when he tweeted a photo of himself in heart-to-heart talks with a lotus blossom.
"I took inspiration from my all-time hero, Clint Eastwood, when he had that emotional chat with an empty chair yesterday," tweeted Pietersen. He went on to say that the flower had told him, "KP - you have done your country a great service in getting rid of Strauss". Although he didn't elaborate which particular country was being referred to.
"It felt so good to open up to the petals, there were no judgemental recriminations," Pietersen added in a surprising burst of prose.
"The only downside is the bastard doos made me sneeze."
