I think Plucky is pointing out that the Thai red shirt protestors are in Thailand, not Taiwan, but perhaps that adds to the humour because a Taiwanese red-shirter wouldn't be used to the coloured load issues. Starred!

So, in summary, late at night is not a good time to write. It should have been, as you point out more like "Thai red shirt protester shunned by family after laundry mishap". (I never liked the last bit)
