   It's come to something when the spam on site is being spammed.

   It doesn't really bother me too much, I generally just ignore it until it'd deleted mid-morning, but it's getting ridiculous now.

   reminds me of my old practice of forwarding all my 'Nigerian chief has £50million to put in your account' emails to each other so they could make friends

   Our old IT system had a crude spam filter based on a scoring system. Each received e-mail was examined and given points for rude words in the subject line, dodgy-looking attachments, unusual combinations of letters, and so on. If the number of points exceeded a threshold, the mail was declared as spam and put in a separate spam folder for you to decide whether to delete it or not.

   Naturally, getting a high spam score became something to be proud of, and soon there was a League Table in the office of those who had received the highest scores. I am convinced that the eventual winner had been following cinquecento's philosophy, adding in requests for cheap Rolex watches and erectile dysfunction remedies.

   We used to have a system like that in the 90's - the scoring 'exchange rate' of points per profanity is a minefield - Is fuck equal to 3 bastards? and how many twats make a wanker ?
