The news that Jeremy Clarkson stowed away inside the rover 'Curiosity' has received a mixed reception from Nasa, motoring pundits and adoring fans.
NASA scientists are up in arms at the news which could put into jeopardy their experiments to seek out early signs of life on the red planet. The stunt, which is backed by Top Gear programme and has the blessing of most of the BBC staff, could be his last, as a return to Earth is not feasible.
"When Clarkson realises there is now way back, it is bound to make good television," explained the small one who nearly died in a crash. "But when he said he would drive anything anywhere, we thought, well, good as your word then. Off you go."
Clarkson will not return to Earth but he will attain everlasting life via the digital channel Dave.
